This cup comes from a collection descended from circa 1840 Jewish settlers in Cincinnati, Ohio—the oldest Jewish community west of Appalachia. The current heirs include the president of an international literary society, who has retired from New Jersey to central Florida. Family and society identity have been withheld by request.
