The letter mentions the involvement of L. C. Levy, Maurice Hart, Joseph Simon, and M. M. Simpson in the event. This letter is significant as a rare surviving record from the early years of the first permanent Jewish house of worship in Louisiana.
This 16-page octavo pamphlet contains the order of service for the consecration of the Synagogue of the United Congregation of Israelites in Kingston, Jamaica, on July 19, 1888 (19 Tammuz 5648).
