Confederate-era envelope addressed to Edgar M. Lazarus, Esq., Major, S.C. Siege Train, James Island, South Carolina, postmarked August 22, 1864. The envelope shows a 10-cent blue stamp and mentions Lazarus's marriage to Minnie Mordecai, whose brother, Capt. J. Randolph Mordecai, was a commanding officer.
Envelope addressed to General John L. Manning at home. The envelope also bears the inscription "By servant of N. Du Boise" and a possible signature of F. J. Moses on the side. The envelope dates to September 1, 1861.
