Prepared by Anna Lyons, Treasurer, and dated October 27, 1850. The report details monies received and paid out, including investments in three shares of Life Annuity Co. stock and cash from friends and subscriptions. The reverse side contains faint, partially legible notes, seemingly in the hand of Isaac Leeser, likely instructions to a printer regarding the report's publication in *The Occident*.
A one-page quarto letter written by Solomon L. Levi to Isaac Leeser on November 15, 1853, from Clearsprings. The letter includes a remittance of eleven dollars: three dollars for a one-year subscription to *The Occident*, and eight dollars for a bound copy of an English Bible.
Handwritten notice dated March 17, 1844, from New Orleans, Louisiana, addressed to Isaac Leeser for inclusion in *The Occident*. The notice announces the formation of the Hebrew Benevolent Association, the adoption of its constitution, and the election of its officers: Gershom Kursheedt (President) and J. Ezekiel (Secretary). Measuring 5.5 x 8 inches, this may be the earliest surviving record of the first Jewish self-help society in New Orleans. The notice was likely written and sent by J. Ezekiel.
